Sit N Go
PokerSavvy Plus focused primarily on cash games and multi table tournament videos. If you are looking for poker coaching for sit n go play, CardRunners and Deuces Cracked offer a wide selection of videos and top notch poker coaching in this area.
MTT
PokerSavvy Plus has online stars WPT Hero, Bond18, and Ansky all contributing multi table tournament videos. The video production and sound are high quality and the teachers are very thorough with their explanations. There are over 150 tournament videos to choose from! All three instructors are very well accomplished, but Ansky is particularly effective in explaining the merits of his loose aggressive style. He is one of the rising stars in the poker world, and won nearly $550,000 for his 4th place finish in the 40k No-Limit Event at the 2009 WSOP.
Cash
This is the meat and potatoes of the site. PokerSavvy Plus has some of the biggest names in online poker on its roster including Isaac “luvWNBA” Haxton and Dani “Ansky”Stern. Both of these players made the final table at the 2009 WSOP 40k Event, and have excelled the past couple years at separating the fish from their money in big cash games. The lineup covers everything from heads up to full ring games.
Other Games
There is pretty good coverage of PLO, Hi/Low, and Horse cash games by Mike Matusow and Jimmy Fricke. Matusow surprisingly offers very good insight and is of course very entertaining. Poker Savvy has a small library but excels in this area.
Pros
PokerSavvy’s biggest strength is that although each of the instructors is a great player, they are also very capable teachers. There are other training sites that have collected formidable lineups of talent, but have failed to deliver on their potential. Dani Stern and Isaac Haxton are particularly impressive with the breakdown of their play. Many of the poker training sites have a forum, but the Poker Savvy Plus poker coaches frequently participate in forum discussions and answers questions from players. The videos are well-produced and it is easy to skip from one chapter to the next with a simple click of the button, instead of having to refresh or skip around for the material you are looking for with other coaching sites. PokerSavvy Plus is one of the more affordable poker training sites at $24.99 per month and offers a free 7 day trial and no sign up fee. Cons
Perhaps the only downside to PokerSavvy Plus is that at the moment most of the videos are stand-alones. They material is very general in nature, and if you are looking to focus on a particular aspect, you might have to search a little bit to find the proper video. There are a few issues with the audio in some of the videos, which makes it difficult to hear with background noise and volume issues, but for the most part the videos are very solid.
Overall
The poker coaches, size of the video library, and affordable price make Poker Savvy Plus a great value for players of any level.
