Sit N Go
BlueFire Poker focuses on cash games. Cardrunners, SitnGoGrinders, or Grinder School would good poker training sites to get poker coaching to improve your sit n go play.
MTT
BlueFire Poker focuses on cash games. Cardrunners, Poker Zion, and Deuces Cracked are better poker training site options to get poker coaching to improve you MTT play.
Cash
BlueFire gives aspiring players an opportunity to learn from Phil “OMGCLAYAIKEN” Galfond, an online cash games legend. Galfond made over $7 million in 2008 playing online poker, and there is no one better suited to teach you how to excel at poker. His videos consist mostly of high stakes games, but a lot can be learned by his analysis and decision making process regardless of your skill level.
Most members of poker training sites are low to mid-stakes grinders that are steadily working there way up the limits. BFP coaches SoCalQuest, Fees, Giggy, and PBjaxx are 4 of the best coaches and players at these limits, and their knowledge will help you move up the limits quickly.
Other Games
This is the area where Bluefire really excels. Most of the other poker training sites focus solely on No limit hold’em, but Galfond shows you how to crush PLO and why he has a WSOP bracelet and millions of cash game winnings in this discipline. Virtually all of OMGCLAYAIKEN’s videos have received perfect ratings on Bluefire poker, and his analysis is light years ahead of most other PLO coaches.
Pros
Phil Galfond is the face of Bluefire Poker, and his reputation as a top cash games player and thoughtful poker writer give the site a lot of credibility. Galfond has produced nearly 40 videos so far, and his videos are worth the subscription price alone.
The sites design is very attractive and the videos are the highest quality of any poker training site reviewed. The videos are well produced and the commentary covers every aspect of their play and how they came to their decisions. The added value of blogs, articles, and a frequently used forum make Bluefire a very well rounded resource for players serious about their game.
Cons
The main drawback at Bluefire is the lack of videos. Bluefire's videos are extremely high quality, but since the site is newer and they release videos less frequently the library isn’t as large as some of the larger sites.
There are no sit n go or multi-table tournaments videos at Bluefire Poker, so if that is your focus then you should check out poker training sites like Cardrunners, Deuces Cracked, or Grinder School.
Overall
Phil Galfond explaining his thought process as he makes decisions for $100,000 or more is worth its weight in gold. He explains how hand ranges, position, bet sizing, and percentages all figure into what the proper play is. If your goal is to become a cash game player, then there is no way you should pass up an opportunity to receive online poker lessons from Bluefire Poker.
